Dair Ghaleach translates as Irish oak and signals the rarity of this stately wood: there are barely any native Irish oak forests left in the country. Sustainably harvested and replaced with new saplings, this collection represents the very best of Irish distilling and maturation.

Midleton Distillery excels at single pot still whiskey making, and this 56% bottle, which contains whiskey from 13 to 26 years of age, is a testament to their work.

Initially matured in ex-bourbon, it was transferred to Irish oak hogsheads, which released a tumble of aromas: pepper, fruit, cinnamon and deep earthy wood notes carry the nose while the palate is a glorious swirl of pot still spices, dark chocolate, orange oil and vanilla. 

The Irish oak influence peaks when it reaches its long, luxurious finish, filled with layers of dark fruits, honeycomb and spice.
